Only in My Dreams

As a child and even occasionally now, I fly in my dreams. Quite often, I fly to escape some bad scenario whilst other times I would do it just because it is fun. As a teenager, I flew so often that eventually I would teach others that came into my dreams, how to fly also.

When you paint/create from your imagination, you work from your right brain. Occasionally the left side of my brain will raise its analytical head to tell me that 'It's too weird' or it's protesting because it can't put a label on it, but my right brain always wins with a 'but it's so much fun'.

Our dreams also come from the right side of our brain, and I feel the characters found in my Coffee Stain paintings are all flying and somehow connected to my dreams. Hence the reason the series is called Only in My Dreams.

Each image begins with coffee splattered onto watercolor paper, then using my imagination, I bring out these quirky, colorful characters.

All works are produced in Australia as premium canvas prints, ready to hang.
